I like this puzzle because it is just difficult enough. It took some time to finish, but I never felt lost at sea with it. I am keeping it to put together again in awhile.

I got this as a gift for my parents. Dad loves Sherlock Holmes (scholar level) and mom loves puzzles so this was perfect. It’s apparently reasonably difficult but not impossible and will take them a couple days to complete. Dad was impressed with the amount of story references the puzzle includes. Probably the best gift I have given them in a while. I’m interested in more from this brand.

I love the image of this puzzle. It’s very fun. The box design is great. The issue for me is that the cut is bad. There is a lot of false Fits, but also pieces that clearly go together in the edge don’t make a smooth edge. The design fits together, the pieces that click into the piece fit, but the line of the outer edge is uneven.False Fits don’t bother me, the strange off cut of some pieces take away from the image for me. My eye instantly draws to the uneven edge pieces.

I’m about half way through the puzzle. While it is quite enjoyable, the pieces don’t seem to lock. I cannot move a “group” of more than 2 pieces without it falling apart. Also discovering that similar pieces will fit in the wrong spot. Dealing with these as I progress.

A beautiful puzzle that engaged the family, and now finally completed. It was difficult, but the pull put poster helped immensely. I’m not a puzzle person but have always loved the stories of Sherlock Holmes. I look forward to tackling Shakespeare next!

I purchased this on impulse for a friend who is a huge Sherlock Holmes fan, but doesn’t usually do jigsaw puzzles (neither do I). I thought the family might get interested–a little here, a little there–but it didn’t quite work out that way. Nevertheless, those who got interested stuck with it and completed it. It was very very difficult–little pieces, similarly colored, and 1000 of them (I was worried something might be missing at the end, but –no– everything was there and fit perfectly together.) It took a while, might have been frustrating at times, but they finished it and, as Holmes buffs, enjoyed all the Holmes references to places, people and stories.I don’t know if they used the poster–I would have–but it seemed like it could really help. It’s exactly the same size as the puzzle (19″ x 27″). I was glad they included it. The only reason I deducted a star is because when they were finished they framed it–but with the dimensions, had to pay for custom framing. I think the clever designers could have easily made it a size for a standard frame (say, 18″ x 24″) and saved people a lot of money. That said, it looked great framed and hung, a very attractive conversation piece. A 1000 piece puzzle is definitely challenging, but it was a successful gift.

I absolutely love this brand of puzzles and think I’ve done just about all that they make. Completed this one today and it was missing 5 pieces. First time that’s happened! And writing here in the hopes the product team sees it and checks quality processes in their manufacturing. Please keep making these!

What a great yet complex puzzle.

Really lovely picture, and great quality puzzle. Excellent gift for someone who’s read Dracula. On the back of the poster in the box, they also include a key to all of the references that were drawn, which was really awesome. The puzzle has a really nice soft matte finish. It’s very similar to Apple’s packaging if you’re familiar with that. It does, however, leave the sensation of a residue on your hands sometimes. The pieces fit together well. They are cut with your standard tabs/blanks pieces. It’s not the most challenging puzzle because of the design, but it’s still a fun one to do.The puzzle box is really nice quality and has a very mild linen finish. On the edge, they have each of the characters drawn out and labeled. The box itself doesn’t have the same finish as the puzzle pieces (linen versus soft matte). It also doesn’t have the full picture on the box; however, the poster insert does if you want a guide to go off of.
