Updated to 4 stars from 3 stars: My eyes must be getting old. There actually was no missing piece of extra piece. One star off for the condition of the pieces.Previous review: This puzzle had a lot of dust and a good number of bent or peeling pieces. Upon completing it, I saw that it was missing one piece and had an extra piece.

I love the series of “the world of” puzzles. They are so fun to do and well made.

I bought the Tudor puzzle for my Aunt for her birthday and I know she will love it! Not only is it great quality, but also it has a story page that comes along with it and shows you who everyone in the puzzle is.I want one for myself now.

I’ve done a few puzzles in my life and it’s safe to say that this was my favorite one! I love history, and especially the Tudor Era, so this was perfect! I love that it comes with a poster with facts about each person/building/item in the puzzle. It took me a little while to figure out how separate the pieces (I separated by sectioning the poster), but once I did, it was a fairly easy puzzle. And every time I got a part finished, I’d refer to the back of the poster to see if I knew who/what that part was. It was so fun to do!And this might be weird to comment on, but the box itself is so sturdy!Overall, I loved EVERY SINGLE aspect of it! Buy it! You won’t regret it!

Great for teaching some history, but a little morbid for entertainment purposes. I do puzzles to cheer myself up – and this is not a good puzzle for that. Though the puzzle does not show a lot of blood and gore, this puzzle depicts multiple beheadings as well as a person being burnt alive… plus someone dying in bed from sleeping sickness, someone being killed on the battlefield, all of King Henry’s wives most of whom he murdered, multiple coffins, blood letting to treat disease, etc. So the puzzle was wonderful to complete and looks beautiful, but after all those unpleasant images and the reality of Tudor history (which is even worse if you look it up)…. it all left me with a terribly sad feeling. I guess I have far more empathy than I realized! So this puzzle is great for learning history and for history buffs, but if you need a puzzle to cheer you up and you don’t want to focus on death – buy something else.

I loved this puzzle. It included so many concepts from the Tudor period: Henry and his six wives, the invention of the printing press, the succession of monarchs after Henry’s death as well as some unsettling themes like dunking of a perceived witch, burning at the stake, and several moments prior to a beheading. The pieces fit together well, and they were well made.

This puzzle was my first experience with a Laurence King Puzzle. I was impressed with the quality. It wasn’t overly difficult, but did take me longer than most 1000 piece puzzles. Based on what I’ve heard of the brand, I was a bit surprised that the pieces had a very loose fit. It didn’t affect my opinion or rating of the puzzle, but just didn’t quite meet my expectations in that area. Other than that, it gets high marks from me in all areas. It was quite fun and I’ll be doing more by the brand.

This puzzle (and any puzzle by this company) is phenomenal. I’m a puzzle connoisseur and for the longest time my favorite brand was the Ravensburger soft-click technology puzzles but let me tell you, I ordered the sherlock holmes puzzle from this brand for christmas 2020 and it is still our favorite puzzle to this day!The quality is sterling, the pieces never stick or rip or warp and the slight matte finish makes it waaay easier to see the pieces in strong lighting. I also love how much detail they cram into the image, it makes doing the puzzle so fun because you can idetify something on every piece (though I could’ve done without some of the characters in this one because they freak the little kids out).Anyways, love this puzzle, love this company, would buy again. Will buy again actually!

This puzzle company uses two different factories to produce their puzzles: one in the Netherlands, whose puzzle pieces are high quality cardboard with a premium waxed linen finish, and another factory in China, whose pieces are thin cheap plastic. The only way to tell is to read the back of the box where it says either “product of Netherlands” or “product of China,” otherwise the boxes are identical. If you get a Netherlands made one, these puzzles are great fun and a pleasure to put together . The Chinese ones are junk.

I love fun party like puzzles especially when they’re about personalities everyone is familiar with and that I personally love! I was going to do this puzzle during Pride week but decided I will save it and do it in honor of Freddie’s birthday. But it would be appropriate anytime of course. Lots of fun images. I just accidentally stumbled across this puzzle when I have actually looked for Freddie Mercury puzzles before and had never seen this one. To be high quality and I’m excited to do it in a couple of months.
